Farmers, peasant advocates, and human rights defenders led by ACT Teachers Party-list representative France Castro gathered this morning at the City Hall of San Jose Del Monte to request a dialog with the local government, to inform the LGU of the recent military attacks against his constituents.
The team, including Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas Chairperson Danilo Ramos were received at the office of City Mayor Arthur B. Robes, along with his chief of staff Atty. Juan Miguel San Pedro.

Yesterday, the 80th IBPA and PNP-SAF alarmed San Jose del Monte farmers and residents. The military and police ransacked the unoccupied house of peasant leader Ronnie Manalo in Barangay San Roque and also went to the house of Alyansa ng Magbubukid sa Bulacan leader Cecilia Rapiz. Both Manalo and Rapiz are active peasant leaders who have been on the receiving end of a series of threats, harassment, and intimidation emanating from their struggle for genuine agrarian reform and farmers’ right to till. #
