Farmers extend support for Pacman in Duterte vs. Pacquiao anti-corruption bout

The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) has thrown its support behind Senator Manny Pacquiao in his battle to expose corruption within the Duterte government. Pacquaio must start looking into the Department of Health, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Agriculture, National Irrigation Administration — some of the national agencies that are prone to and are notorious for corruption over the years.

The farmers’ group also encouraged Pacquiao to go “all in” in challenging corruption and injustices. Just like in his boxing fights, we know Senator Pacquaio will be serious and well-prepared for his fight against corruption. We mean to support him and see the end of this bout against Duterte and his corrupt ilk. Pacquaio’s battle against corruption will be worth our cheers. There should be accountability in the overpricing of government projects, procurement corruption, and social amelioration anomalies, as KMP noted the bloated infrastructure budget and the pork-filled national budget for 2021.

KMP further urged the Senator to be a champion for the Filipino people and also take up demands for economic aid, and social justice. In particular, KMP asked Pacquiao to support demands for the P10,000 cash aid, P15,000 agricultural production subsidies, and aid for health workers.

Billions of public funds that should be intended for economic aid or ayuda go into the pockets of the few because of chronic corruption. Hindi nabibigyan ng sapat na serbisyo ang taumbayan dahil sa pondo publiko na napupunta sa bulsa ng iilan dahil sa malalang korapsyon. ###
