Farmers’ group Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) said boxing champ and Senator Manny Pacquiao must recuperate and come home soon so he can continue his bigger fight here at the home front — the fight against corruption and tyranny of the Duterte government. “We will fight alongside with him.”

The entire world already knows who Manny Pacquiao is. He has nothing to prove anymore when it comes to boxing and sports. As a public servant and Senator, he still has an unfinished fight. He promised to present more evidence of corruption and we expect him to do good with his pledge,” says KMP and Anakpawis leader Rafael Mariano.

“We want to see Pacquiao throw strong punches and win against corruption,” Mariano said. Likewise, he must also champion the most urgent issues and demands of the Filipino masses — livelihood, economic aid, faster vaccination, benefits for health workers, and a health and socio-economic centric approach to the pandemic.

The boxer turned Senator recently commended the Commission on Audit (COA) for carrying out its mandate to protect the people’s money and scrutinize the spending of government agencies. He further said that corrupt government officials and employees must be held liable and be sent to jail.

“Umuwi ka na, Senator Pacman. Mas malaki ang haharapin nating laban dito sa Pilipinas.”
