Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) stands with outgoing Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon with her strong and decisive opinion and vote to grant the petitions for disqualification filed against Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr. In her 24-page opinion, Guanzon said the facts are undisputed and that Bongbong’s “repeated violation of the law” involved moral turpitude, which is a ground for a candidate’s disqualification.
At this crucial moment, KMP said Commissioner Aimee Ferolino is the biggest stumbling block to the release of the decision.
“Comelec will continue to receive public outrage as it stalls the decision on Marcos’ disqualification case,” according to Danilo Ramos, chairperson of KMP who said that the Comelec 1st Division must consider Guanzon’s opinion even after her retirement tomorrow. ###
