In reaction to the President’s claim that he is unable to sleep every night thinking of how to bring down inflation, the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas said Bongbong Marcos Jr. must finally give up his acting agriculture secretary position and appoint a full-time, competent and pro-farmer agriculture secretary.

“Para sa mga magsasaka, bangungot si Bongbong Marcos Jr. at ang kawalan niya ng silbi sa DA. Let us wake up from this nightmare. Mr. President, please leave the agriculture secretary portfolio,” according to KMP leader Danilo Ramos. Marcos Jr. earlier said that he will leave DA once the food crisis is over but farmers attest that food security is even more threatened with Marcos as the DA secretary.

Ramos added: “Sabi nga, patong-patong ang problema ng bansa at kalat-kalat ang isip ng Pangulo. Iisa lang ang pokus niya — ang pagbibiyahe para makakuha daw ng foreign investments. Panahon na para umalis si Marcos Jr. sa DA at magtalaga ang bagong agriculture Secretary na totoong makikinig sa hinaing ng mga magsasaka.” ###
