Filipinos must remain vigilant amid the brewing word war, contradictions between Marcos and Duterte camps

The ensuing exchange of harsh words and “sewage language” between the Marcos and Duterte camps signals the worsening divide and contradiction between the ruling classes considered to be the worst enemies of the people.

“Filipinos must refrain from being caught between these two camps. Both camps represent the interests of landlords, bureaucrat capitalists, and imperialist powers. Both the Marcos and Duterte families are beyond salvation. They have no regard at all for the most urgent concerns and pressing problems of Filipinos. Their unabashed bickering further reveals that they have no intention at all to uplift the state of the nation.”

“Filipinos must remain critical and vigilant during these times and focus on asserting our democratic demands for genuine land reform, secured employment, livelihood, and sovereignty. Ang importante lang sa mga Marcos at Duterte ay kung sino sa kanila ang hahawak sa kapangyarihan at kaban ng bayan. Wala silang pakialam sa mamamayan kaya hindi dapat kumampi ang masa sa kahit kanino man sa kanila,” according to the peasant group.
