Farmers press Malacanang: Sack Duque over incorrigible incompetence, serial corruption

Epic failure as Health Secretary

Farmers have added their voice to the strong public clamor to ax Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III. Sobrang pahirap na si Secretary Duque sa mamamayan. Duterte must stop playing favorites and sack Duque as health secretary once and for all. Our COVID-19 situation came to this worsening state and Duque is very much accountable for it.

Duterte and Malacanang have been too lenient and forgiving on Duque, says KMP chairperson Danilo Ramos as he urged Malacanang to stop treating Duque with kid gloves.

Ramos said: Duque must resign if he still has an ounce of dignity and delicadeza on him. He is not just serving at the pleasure of the President. He is morally and legally beholden to the Filipino people and thousands of health workers who are putting their lives on the line in this fight against COVID-19. The

This week, the Commission on Audit (COA) issued a report that found “various deficiencies” amounting to P67.3 billion in DOH’s funds. The said fund was intended for national efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic.

We do not want to see and hear Secretary Duque make excuses during Senate and Congressional probes on the misused funds. We want a full, public accounting of the entire DOH and COVID-19 funds. The people have all the right to know. It is taxpayers’ money, after all, added Anakpawis Chairperson Rafael Mariano.

As of August 13, the DOH recorded 13,177 new COVID cases, the second-highest since 2020. There are 96,395 active cases and 29,838 deaths.

Likewise, KMP said Senator Manny Pacquiao must hurry back soon and continue his bigger fight here at home — against corruption at the DOH and other national government agencies. Senator Pacquaio said he has more proof of corruption within the Duterte government. It’s time to open that can of worms. The public has had enough of Duterte’s anti-corruption blabbering. ###
